I think this is one of the best examples of what the French call a “glou glou” wine – something light and crushable that is as at home on a sunny patio as it is around a roaring campfire. From Mathieu Lapierre, the equally talented offspring of Beaujolais legend Marcel Lapierre, this is Gamay at its most unpretentious, most uncomplicated, and most unbelievably easy-drinking. Think red popsicles, strawberry kiwi juice, and cherry blasters. Serve chilled on a warm day with cool friends or a hot date.
