In addition to their powerful Chianti Classico, they produce a range of Supertuscans that have garnered cult status.

Brigaldara Amarone della Valpolicella

Owner Stefano Cesari is the intelligent, intense, innovative producer of Valpolicella Classico, Valpolicella Superiore and Amarone. He once served as President of the Valpolicella Region Grower’s Association, where he dedicated his term to improving the quality of Valpolicella through low yields, improved viticultural practices, careful clone selection and modern winemaking techniques. While he farms the traditional grapes of the Valpolicella Classico D.O.C., his emphasis is on the higher-quality Corvina over Rondinella and Molinara. He produces distinctive wines of very high quality from 15 hectares of estate vineyards near the village of San Floriano in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico zone.

Brigaldara Recioto

The Brigaldara winery is located just outside the town of San Floriano, in the heart of the Valpolicella region, north of Verona. It is at the entrance of the Marano valley, one of the four valleys that make up Valpolicella’s classical area, the original and oldest wine production area of the region. The name Brigaldara appears for the first time in a notary deed dated 1260. In 1929, the Cesari family acquired the villa with the surrounding land. Up to 1979, Brigaldara did not make its own wine and sold most of the grapes it harvested. In the early 1990’s the family began to acquire more land for vineyards in the area and started producing their own wine.

Boscarelli Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

The Boscarelli story began in 1962 with founder Egidio Corradi’s dream of producing a noble wine that exalts the aromas and flavors of his native land while imparting the elegance he loved.  After having left his native home in the Montepulciano region of the Siena countryside, he worked most of his life as an international broker in Northern Italy. Yet, his passion for wine and longing for his home region spurred him to purchase two old farms in the Montepulciano area.  The land had long been cultivated in the traditional way with different annual crops and small vineyards.  Together with his daughter, Paola, and her husband they started the Boscarelli estate.

The original spirit of the estate has been passed down to the third generation of the family. Each day Luca and Nicolò De Ferrari, sons of Paola and Ippolito, bring that same passion to wine production as they work to infuse each bottle with the aromas and flavors that Grandpa Egidio loved and searched for. Luca and Nicolò reselect and replant vineyards that continue to express the scents and range of characteristics of the incredible land that nurtures them.  Such intense attention to cultivation practices and gradual replanting, started in the late ’80s, resulted in a total of 22 hectares of vineyards with an average density of 6,000 to 7,000 plants per hectare. Each plant produces about 1 kg of grapes.

Barco Reale doc di Carmignano

Carmignano is a small medieval village located in one of the most historic wine zones in Tuscany.  The hilly region of Carmignano was one of the four Tuscan zones making wines of superior quality delimited in 1716 by grand duke Cosimo III de’Medici, making it essentially one of the first delimited and protected wine appellations in the world.  The region and its wines were forgotten for some time, until Count Ugo Contini Bonacossi of Tenuta Capezzana revived it’s fame by working towards the creation of the DOC in 1975.  Today Tenuta Capezzana continues to produce high quality and traditional wines in Carmignano.  What sets this DOC apart from many other Tuscan wine making areas is that Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are traditional grapes here and have always been used to compliment Sangiovese.

The three appellations of Carmignano (Carmignano DOCG, Barco Reale di Carmignano DOC and a Vin Santo Appellation) extend over the same territory and overlap Chianti Montalbano DOCG. The hills are lower than much of the Chianti appellations, lying at about 200m above sea level and the soils are mostly albarese, clay, shale and sandstone.

Quail's Gate Chardonnay

Quail’s Gate has been owned and operated by the Stewart family since 1956.  Located in the Okanagan Valley it boasts 160 acres of incredible soil  below the extinct volcano of Mount Boucherie.  Its deposits work like a time release capsule. Combined with warm summers and mild winters, the volcanic rocks have decomposed and recombined into soluble molecules that are easily separated into their elements and accessible to plants – including vineyards. The result is some of the richest agricultural land on the planet.
Bishop’s Cellar sold Quail’s Gate wines when they first opened their doors in 2003 and is pleased to have these iconic and delicious wines back on the shelf after a hiatus.

Luxardo Bitter Bianco

Luxardo is a family-owned company founded in Zara, a port city on the Dalmatian coast of what is now Croatia. Girolamo Luxardo, a Genovese businessman, and his wife, Maria Canevari, moved to Zara in 1817. It was Maria who began perfecting “rosolio maraschino,” a liqueur produced in Dalmatian convents since medieval times from special maraschino cherries. In 1913, Michelangelo Luxardo built the most modern and massive distillery in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but it was destroyed in World War II by Anglo-American bombings. Only one member of the fourth generation, Giorgio Luxardo, survived the World War II invasion and fled to Italy. Escaping with only a cherry sapling, Giorgio crossed the Adriatic Sea to the Veneto region of northeast Italy and reconnected with a colleague who had saved the Luxardo recipe book. Armed with the surviving tools and a desire to reestablish his family’s legacy, Giorgio chose the small Veneto city of Torreglia to rebuild the distillery in 1946. At this new home, Luxardo restored its extensive product line of Italian liqueurs and continued to export the products to markets around the world. Luxardo continues to produce Maraschino to Maria Canevari’s original recipe, as it was written down in 1821. Today, Luxardo is operated by Franco Luxardo of the family’s fifth generation, along with members of the sixth.

Chum Churum Blueberry Soju

Soju is a very popular spirit sold in Korea that is traditionally made by distilling rice and other cereal grains. However, since the 1960s to alleviate rice shortages, most soju has been produced by diluting high strength neutral alcohol from distilled sweet potatoes or tapioca.

One of the most trendy brands in South Korea, Chum Churum (which translates as “like the first time”) is popular because of the added alkaline water, higher sweetness, and relatively lower alcohol content. This smoother and softer profile has been extremely successful and is especially popular among younger drinkers in South Korea.
