Nahe

Located in a broad area between Mosel and Rheinhessen withthe best sites located on the river Nahe.  The slopes are steep like the Mosel, though soil composition is more varied.  Riesling is the main grape and its style falls somewhere in between that of the light bodied and racy Mosel versions and fuller bodied Rhine ones.  This fuller body is attributed to a slightly warmer climate.  If you are looking for red wines, search out Dornfelder from this region.
