Basilicata

Basilicata is located at the arch of the boot shaped country and runs northwest from the gulf of Taranto.  The region’s capital and largest city is Potenza.  It is not a major wine producing region in terms of the country’s total volume, however its wines should not be overlooked; here you will find great value everyday wines and premium age worthy wines.  Most of the wines are red and the main red grape is Aglianico which makes up the wines of Aglianico del Vulture.
