Umbria

Umbria is located in the heart of Italy, in the Apennines, North of Rome and South of Tuscany.  Tourists love the medieval hilltop towns of Assisi and Spoleto as well as the regional wines, white Orvieto and powerful reds from Sagrantino di Montefalco (made from 100% Sagrantino grapes).  The main grapes planted are Trebbiano Toscano (locally known as Procanico), Grechetto and Sangiovese.
