Spicy Foods

Heat and spice can bring such an incredible depth of flavour and pizazz to any dish, while finding the right wine becomes even more important.

Avoid wines that are high alcohol and tannin so that they don’t bring out the harshness of the spices you use. Instead, you’ll want a wine that has a lot of fruit and maybe some sweetness to balance the heat.  Asian inspired spicy foods work best with low alcohol white wines that have some residual sugar such as Riesling, Gewurztraminer, off-dry Rosé etc.
