Situated in a town called La Miel near the Andes in Venezuela, Distilerias Unidas produces a variety of distillates but is certainly best-known internationally for their phenomenal rum. Ron Diplomatico Exclusiva has become something of a standard-bearer for modern Venezuelan rum as it is one of the most awarded rums in the world and frequently tops both tasting panels and consumer reviews. Diplomatico is made entirely from molasses and sugar cane honey from local sugar processing plants and has a much higher concentration of sugar than most rum producers have available to them. Normindia Gin

At the early part of the 20th century, after spending months discovering new flavors while travelling around India, Pierre, the third generation of Domaine du Coquerel family, returned to business school but couldn’t forget the unqiue flavours and experiences he had while travelling.  After years of working in France and in the United States where he explored hundreds of different spirits he fell in love with the versatile canvas that is gin.

He later joined the family distillery producing Calvados, Pommeau and Cidre but he was still thinking about the exotic flavours of his travels and his desire to produce a gin. In 1937 the family began developing their own signature gin and found inspiration in an old family book dated from 1765 called “La Chymie du Goût et de l’Odorat” containing a recipe for a juniper distillate which was loved by Louis XV – King of France. By fusing the experiences from his travels with his family’s rich history in distilling, Pierre had created a truly one of a kind gin: Normindia.

Champagne Taittinger Brut 1500ml

Taittinger is one of Champagne’s great houses.  It was founded in 1734 by Jacques Fourneaux in Reims whose vision grew into the large company it is today.  The Taittinger family has managed the Champagne House for nearly a century. Its aim has always been the pursuit of excellence. “Having our family name on a bottle places demands and responsibilities on every minute. The name on the bottle conveys both the skills and knowledge of the past and a commitment to the future”. Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger has embodied this commitment for over 40 years.  His son, Clovis and his daughter, Vitalie who both worked beside him in the day to day running of the Champagne House made a very close-knit and complementary family trio.  As of 2019 Vitalie Taittinger stepped in as the company’s president, taking over for her father, Pierre-Emmanuel. Brother Clovis was announced as the new General Manager and the Director of Marketing and Sales worldwide.

With 288 hectares of vines, the Taittinger family is amongst the largest vineyard owners in Champagne. The vineyard is planted to all three Champagne grapes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier distributed equally across 37 highly-rated vineyards.  Taittinger Champagne is characterized by its high proportion of Chardonnay in the blend. The house produces a few styles; both non vintage as well as exceptional vintage dated Champagnes.

Joseph Cattin Reserve Gewurztraminer

In the late 17th century, François Cattin, born in Porrentruy, Switzerland, came to settle in this small Alsatian village of  Voegtlinshoffen located 10 kilometers south of Colmar. In 1720, François Cattin decided to become a winemaker in addition to his job as a builder. The next 11 generations continued his legacy and this is how the family business started!  Around 1850, Antoine Cattin decided to focus exclusively on the profession of winemaking. He marked the beginning of specialization that was carried on by all his descendents. One of his sons, Joseph took over the family-owned Estate.  At the end of the 19th century, the phylloxera plague seriously damaged Alsatian vineyards. Joseph Cattin dedicated his time fighting against this plague. He became one of the pioneers of the Alsatian viticulture by being rewarded with the diploma of « Vignoble modèle ». His brother, Théodore, established the restaurant La Cigogne in Paris. This place, renowned for its famous Alsatian gastronomy, was well frequented with the Parisian upper class as well as many foreign guests and became an excellent shop front to promote Joseph’s Alsatian wines.  Hence the Joseph Cattin as a brand was born!

Today Joseph’s great great grandson, Jacques Cattin Junior, an engineer, agronomist and winemaker, and he and his wife Anaïs head the estate.  They craft varietal wines that are pure expressions of the Alsatian style.

Verhaeghe Brewery - Duchesse de Bourgogne

Brewery Verhaeghe is the brewery that produces Duchesse de Bourgogne. They are a small family-owned brewery in the southwest of West Flanders, Belgium. The history of the brewery dates back to 1885.

The Verhaeghe brewery follows one simple rule: do a little less, but do it better. At home in Belgium but also across the globe, beer consumers tend to gravitate more and more towards high quality, unique beers. The flagship beer ‘Duchesse de Bourgogne’ is living proof of this philosophy. This popular red-brown west-flemish ale is brewed according to traditional wild yeast fermentation that this region in Belgium is famous for and additionally matured in oak casks for 8-18 months to ensure the unmistakable full flavour of ‘the Duchesse’.

Lindemans - Cuvée René Oude Gueuze

Southwest of Brussels, in the quiet Belgian town of Vlezenbeek, the Lindemans family has been farming and homebrewing as long as anyone can remember. Commercial brewing started in 1822.

Lambic, or spontaneously fermented beers, are the beers of this region and are among the world’s rarest: they are the only beers fermented via wild, airborne yeast – no yeast is added by the brewers. Lambics come only from the Senne River valley, near Brussels – a region about 15 by 75 miles in size. The unusual, demanding, and unique flavors that come from multiple yeast strains are unmatched in the world of beer.
