Northern Rhone: Cornas AC

The most southern of the Northern Rhone appellations focuses entirely on Syrah.  Here the grapes grow on warm, south-facing sunny terraces that are sheltered from the cooling Mistral wind blowing through the Rhone.

The grapes happily ripen and produce dark, full-bodied wines that are similar in style to Hermitage.
