Nerello Mascalese

Nerello Mascalese is indigenous to Sicily and is most at home on the slopes of Mount Etna.  It produces a lightly pigmented red wine with aromas a red fruits, sweet spices, dried flowers and herbs.  It can have a slight earthy note and its fine grained tannins make it slightly reminiscent of Pinot Noir.
