Thanksgiving pairing: CHKN Chop’s Holiday Poutine
October means two things: breweries start rolling out stouts, and Chkn Chop brings back their legendary Holiday Poutine.
I’ll always argue stouts deserve a spot year-round, but there’s something about the first chill of fall that makes dark, rich beers irresistible. We’re now proudly stocking Tire Shack Brewing, and Secret Society is the perfect way to kick things off. Layered with decadent chocolate and toasted marshmallow notes, it feels like a treat without being too heavy-handed.
As for dinner? Skip the turkey marathon and let Chkn Chop do the heavy lifting. Their Holiday Poutine packs all the festive fixings plus cheese curds (because life is simply better with cheese curds). It’s a Halifax favourite that’s never around for long.
