Fast Food Pairing: Turbo Chicken’s Hot Hen w/ waffle fries + coleslaw (Halifax)
Best chicken burger I’ve ever had is the Spicy Chicken Katsu Burger from Katsu17. You know the place, it’s right next to Damascus (best donair), and right around the corner from the Big Cheese Poutinerie (Notorious P.I.G., Carolina pulled pork with chipotle sauce on top), all right here on 17th Ave. The Red Mile! Electric Avenue! The Barley District!
Buuuuuuuut the Turbo Chicken Hot Hen is up there. And when you’re eating something spicy, when the weather’s getting nice, ya gotta go for La Bella Prosecco. Made in a traditional Extra Dry style, still dry but with an added touch of sweetness. Fresh, crisp, and fruit forward with notes of citrus and green apple, this is a great pairing for a spicy chicken sandwich, or a different spicy chicken sandwich, or a spicy pulled pork poutine, or even a donair. Just not Halifax style.
