Wine Category Manager

With over 20 years of experience as a wine merchant in Halifax, Jason joined Bishop’s Cellar back in 2013. Working within our product team and splitting time between our shop and warehouse offices, Jason’s extensive experience helps select and source the wonderful wines we carry on our shelves everyday. Working hard to make shopping for wine less complicated and intimidating for customers of all knowledge levels, you can catch Jason pouring wine and helping customers find what they’re looking for on most Saturdays down at our Lower Water St. store.

☀️ Summer Picks

Nestled in the hills between Parma and Reggio Emilia, Venturini Baldini has been producing high-quality sparkling wines since 1976. Now owned by the Prestia family, the estate remains committed to organic farming and showcasing the best of Emilia-Romagna through its wines.

Their Lambrusco Rose was made for sitting on a patio in the sun and accomplishing absolutely nothing. It’s cold, refreshing, and easy to drink, the kind of wine that turns “I’ll just have one glass” into “we should book an early tee time tomorrow.” Give it some sunshine, a few friends, and an appetizer nobody planned on ordering, and you’re in a pretty good spot. Not every summer decision is a great one, but ordering another bottle of Lambrusco Rose on a patio is about as close as it gets.
